Destiny 2’s Solstice of Heroes Features An “Armor 2.0” That Is Up for Grabs

Solstice Of Heroes

On July 30th, Destiny 2’s Solstice of Heroes will
return with a few surprises. The upcoming celebratory twists will include
elemental buffs, a new zone, and an opportunity to obtain the first of the new
“armor 2.0” sets that will go live in the Shadowkeep expansion.

Check out the official Destiny 2’s Solstice of Heroes
trailer here, to have a first glimpse of what is in store for players.

Close Look At The Event

Every day during the Solstice event, they will feature one
of three elements, namely Solar, Arc, or Void. Then each of them will drop
Elemental Orbs on Elemental kills.

By collecting the orbs, you will be able to complete
objectives and upgrade your armor. If you manage to collect 30 orbs that match
the element of the day, it will also proceed to apply a brief elemental buff.

These buffs will be a burning wave of energy for Solar
classes, invisibility and heightened ability regeneration for Voids, and boosted
speed and melee damage for Arc classes.

However, bear in mind that these buffs will not be working
in the Competitive play or Gambit Prime. But they will be enabled in the new
European Aerial Zone.

Fireteams can fight as many mini-bosses as they want within
a set time limit. After this, they’ll face a final boss. If you manage to
defeat the boss, treasure chests will be throughout the zone that contains
Solstice Packages, which can be opened using Solstice Key Fragments. These
fragments will be earned in any other activity during the event.

This means that the more mini-bosses you kill, the more
chests you can find. Additionally, if you do it elementally, the more Elemental
Orbs you’ll pick up as well.

More Rewards

At the beginning of the event, players will be provided with
Solstice of Heroes armor sets that can be upgraded from their initial
“Drained” state to “Renewed” by finishing various
objectives for each piece in the set.

If you succeeded in getting the full suit to
“Renewed”, then it will grant you a “Majestic” Legendary
set. Doing and completing more objectives will unlock the Masterwork version.

It is indeed a lot of work, and to ensure that the effort
isn’t wasted Bungie decided to make Solstice armor the first 2.0 armor set in
the game.

Any sets you earn during the event will be available from
the Gunsmith as 2.0 versions when Shadowkeep goes live. Although further
details about the 2.0 armor system are not yet revealed, what we do know is
that gear pieces will be able to host multiple mods. Also, Intellect,
Discipline, and Strength stats are making a comeback to the game to enable
deeper, more RPG-style character builds.

There will not be an event engram this year, but what they
do have is that all items will be offered for direct purchase with Silver and
Bright Dust. If you want to know more about the full details on this year’s
Solstice of Heroes event, visit their official website at bungie.net for additional info.
